Brass Construction were a nine-piece funk band from Brooklyn, led by Guyanese-born arranger Randy Muller. Their 1976 self-titled debut, with every song titled by a single verb, was the first disco album to reach the UK Top 10 and topped the US soul chart. 'Movin'' — assembled from a sixteen-minute studio jam — went to number one R&B and became a foundation record for the British jazz-funk movement.
