D'Influence — Hypnotize
Hypnotize · 1997
Label: Echo Records · Genre: Soul / UK Soul / Neo Soul · Country: United Kingdom · From: London, Europe
D'Influence were London's most complete soul act of the nineties — vocalist Sarah Ann Webb, guitarist Steve Marston, keyboardist Kwame Kwaten, and drummer Ed baden-Powell, playing their own instruments and producing their own records at a time when that was almost unheard of in UK R&B. 'Hypnotize' arrived in 1997 on their second album 'London', and the Masters At Work remix turned it into a floor piece that DJs still pull out.
Did you know: Masters At Work — Louie Vega and Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez — remixed 'Hypnotize' into a nine-minute deep house suite. It's considered one of their finest remix commissions, and the 12" promo is one of the more sought-after records from London's late-nineties soul scene.
