Jacob Collier is the North London multi-instrumentalist who taught himself to play virtually every instrument in his mother's music room and was discovered at 17 via YouTube, where his split-screen arrangements attracted Quincy Jones's attention. Djesse Vol. 3 is the third of a four-album series representing different parts of the day — this one, the night — and it is his most R&B and hip-hop-leaning volume. Daniel Caesar, Ty Dolla $ign, Mahalia, Rapsody and Tank and the Bangas all feature. It earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year and won Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals. He is, by most accounts, the most technically accomplished musician of his generation.
