Takanaka, the album, contains Ready to Fly — a song Takanaka originally performed as a member of the Sadistics, and which became the most beloved track of his solo career. It opens slowly, builds over six minutes into a soaring guitar meditation, and then releases. Ready to Fly became a staple of every Takanaka live show for fifty years, a fact that says everything about what it achieves. The album also features Jun Fukamachi, Rey Ohara, and Chris Mosdell contributing to its particular alchemy.
