Mel Britt cut this in Chicago in 1969, his first solo record after years in a group, and watched it vanish. Blackpool Mecca DJ Ian Levine rescued it in 1974, and its aching strings and vocal made it one of the most loved records on the scene. Britt learned of that devotion only shortly before he died, virtually penniless, in 2013.
