RIO (리오) is a Seoul singer-songwriter and producer who built a following posting covers and originals to YouTube and SoundCloud before her solo debut. Wash Away was that debut single, released in April 2020 — a hushed, mellow piece of Korean indie that drifts on warm chords and her unhurried voice. It later anchored her first EP, The Young Lover, collecting the early singles that announced her as one of the most quietly assured voices in the new wave of K-indie.
