Saigon Soul Revival are a Ho Chi Minh City band dedicated to reviving Nhạc Vàng — the sentimental Vietnamese pop of the 1950s through 1970s suppressed after the fall of Saigon in 1975. Hửa Âm Xưa (Old Harmonies) is their debut album, bringing these nearly-lost songs back to life without reducing them to nostalgia. Ngày Xưa Hoàng Thị is a poem set to music — one of the most beautiful Vietnamese melodies of the 20th century.
