There is no Sandi Sheldon. The name was a one-off pseudonym for Kendra Spotswood, a New Jersey singer who had toured with the Shirelles. Van McCoy, later of The Hustle fame, wrote and produced this galloping Okeh dancer, which flopped in 1967 and then became a Northern Soul cornerstone, sitting near the top of the all-time 500.
