The Three Degrees' self-titled 1973 album was their Philadelphia International debut, recorded at Sigma Sound with Gamble and Huff. Its centrepiece, 'When Will I See You Again,' was written after a stranger asked Kenny Gamble that exact question outside the label's offices; he ran upstairs and wrote it with Leon Huff on the spot. The single became the group's biggest hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974 and number one in the UK.
